1951 Mayflower (aka Queenie)

Queenie earned her name when she was rescued by Andy Mace from a derelect life in Queen's NY. Someone had given me the name of a gentleman who had a basket case Mayflower for sale cheap. I contacted the guy and found much to my chagrin that the car was located in Queen's NY. Too far for me to travel for a $250 car. So, Andy Mace to the rescue! He volunteered to pick the car up in exchange for gas money and a few choice bits from the car. Couldn't turn that down....:)

I didn't know just how rusty the car was until he got it home and sent a few pictures to me. Rust doesn't begin to describe the condition of the car. There isn't a whole lot left of the underside.

Fortunately the mechanicals appear to be in overall excellent shape and so those parts will be used to bring the Grey Mayflower back to Triumph respectability! I had hoped to make a Mayflower Ute out of Queenie but there is just to little left to work with.
